How it Started

Welcome to the Del Martians! We’re excited to share our journey with you, starting with how it all began. Meet Sandro, a tech enthusiast from Portugal who came to California to explore the world of technology and business. During his stay with us, we brainstormed ways for him to earn some money. One day, the conversation turned to vintage Apple products. Sandro was skeptical—he didn’t believe there was a market for older devices. I challenged him, saying you can’t dismiss an idea without testing it first. So, we took a leap of faith and purchased a lot of 100 11″ MacBook Air’s, each with 2GB of RAM, from a local school district reseller. Our mission? To repair and restore each unit. Not stopping there, we also bought 50 third-generation iPads and set out to give them the same treatment. With our refurbished Apple products ready, we headed to Kolby’s Swap Meet. Armed with just a table, a chair, and some handwritten signs that read “Apple :),” we set up shop. To our surprise, we had an incredible day—clearing over $1,500! This experience ignited our passion for taking older systems and creating opportunities for students to learn and earn on their own schedules. Join us as we continue this journey, sharing tips, stories, and insights along the way. Welcome to Del Martians!
